El rector de la universidad donde yo estaba estudiando por 15 años, me habló de Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar que venía a Filipinas en un año, que los que querían conocer el fundador de Prout y de Ananda Marga, venían en un año y tenían que anotar un año antes para asistir su convención. Que decir todos los asistentes deberían prepararse por un año a nivel ética, a nivel moral, a nivel de alimentación, a nivel del yoga, a nivel de meditación. Comenzó con el siglo. Y sin embargo su creación viene desde antes porque los gérmenes de una nueva sociedad surgen en la vieja sociedad. De manera que por allá por 1995 tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a la 4ª Conferencia sobre la Mujer, Igualdad, Desarrollo y Paz que se realizó en Beijing, China. En esa 4ª Conferencia sobre la Mujer, Igualdad, Desarrollo y Paz hubo un tema de discusión muy importante: la feminización de la pobreza. Es decir, la pobreza, producto del desarrollo del modelo neoliberal del capitalismo salvaje había dado un lugar a un crecimiento en particular de la pobreza en el seno de las mujeres. Según las estadísticas manejadas por la Comisión Económica para América Latina, la CEPAL, el 70% de los pobres para ese momento, 1995, éramos mujeres. La pobreza tenía rostro de mujer y por tanto se crea esa categoría, “Feminización de la Pobreza” para dar cuenta de una realidad... El fundador de Prout fue Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1921-1990), filósofo hindú, autor de más de 400 libros, compositor musical y maestro espiritual. En Brasil podemos encontrar muchas experiencias de movimientos de kilombos de esclavos, de mujeres, donde está presente esto que llamamos el principio comunal, o el principio de las comunidades. En Brasil hay muchas experiencias de lo que llamamos, la economía solidaria: cooperativas, asociaciones, poder local y territorial que están dispersas por todo el país. Con el ascenso de Lula como presidente fue creada una secretaria nacional de economía solidaria, para fomentar educación y desarrollar la economía solidaria en el país. También tenemos 11 ministerios que desarrollan experiencias de la economía solidaria. Para nosotros la economía solidaria con base en la autogestión es una estrategia de movimiento social que reúne a los trabajadores de todo el país, realizando congresos y elaborando una plataforma y un proyecto político para pensar en otra sociedad y en otro mundo...
