Nuestro proyecto “Aparigraha”, nombre Sanscrito, que traducimos como no codiciar o no atesorar, es el quinto Yama o principio ético descrito en las Yoga Sutras de Maharishi Patanjali. Elegimos este nombre para nuestro proyecto porque la codicia es el alimento del que se nutre el Capitalismo. Lamentablemente cuando no se ha aprendido la práctica de auto control un simple deseo que no es controlado sigue aumentando hasta convertirse en codicia incontenible como un cáncer que sigue creciendo y ya está consumiendo a toda la sociedad. Nosotros quisiéramos que todos ustedes ahorita se imaginaran en un vagón del metro a una hora de alta concurrencia, el aislamiento, el calor, la angustia y la ansiedad los acompaña. La espera de la parada se hace insoportable. De repente el tren se para en su estación y con mucha dificultad usted logra atravesar a otras personas que están en el mismo estado que usted, logra por fin encontrar aquella salida que lo lleva a respirar un aire menos denso, calmo, que lo transporta nuevamente a su realidad tranquila y amplia. Ahora, imagínese que vive constantemente en este estado de angustia, hacinado, con poca luz, con poca o casi nada de agua. Sabe que el tren nunca se parará en la estación correspondiente. Sabe que nunca se bajará para poder darle continuidad a su vida. The name of our cooperative means Participative Management. We want to present the results of our study on the solidarity economy sector in Venezuela. The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) is an organization made of millions of cooperativists throughout the world that has been carrying out both qualitative and quantitative research in various countries to determine the reality of the cooperative movement in the world. In the case of Venezuela, we have formed an alliance with ICA to carry out this research on the social economy of the country. Social transformation is impossible without personal transformation. I have been searching for personal transformation, as you search for personal transformation. In 1960s I first heard about the founder of Prout and in 1967 someone whispered to me that the founder of Prout, Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, was coming to Manila (Philippines). At that time I was a seeker of knowledge, excellence and personal transformation. The rector of the university where I had studied for 15 years told me about Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, who was coming to the Philippines in one year. He said that those who wanted to meet the founder of Ananda Marga and Prout, had to register one year before in order to attend the convention. He said that all people hoping to attend should prepare themselves for that entire year, practicing ethics, morality, proper nutrition, yoga and meditation. I took the challenge.
